School Committee Approves New 4-Year Superintendent Contract

School Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026

North Andover School Committee votes 5-0 to lock in superintendent for four more years. Negotiators Chair David Brown and member Joseph Hicks finalized the deal after ironing out contract-clause questions over the summer, with member Ed Moscovitch calling her handling of public inquiries done "with grace and patience and thoroughness." The board also approved six new teaching-assistant positions at Franklin and Sargent elementary schools, costing $186,510 through the federal IDEA grant, and boosted a North Andover High School nursing position from 0.6 to 0.8 FTE via a state public-health grant. Assistant Superintendent Kristen Ando, filling in for the absent superintendent, told the board persistent kindergarten bus problems stem from contractor NRT's "staffing, communication, and delivery," prompting outreach to regional busing collaborative SEEM.

The committee also approved an overnight robotics-team trip to St. Louis, Missouri.
