North Andover School Committee Approves Superintendent Contract in 3-2 Vote

NORTH ANDOVER — June 18, 2026 — North Andover School Committee renews superintendent's contract 3-2 amid member concerns over contract language. The committee voted Thursday to approve a new four-year contract for Superintendent Pam — last name not announced in open session — with members Joe Brown, Marc Hicks, and the chair voting in favor and members Sams and Cormier dissenting. Both dissenting members stated publicly that their no votes reflected specific contract-language concerns, not any lack of confidence in the superintendent's leadership. "This was simply, for me, a matter of some of the terms that were there," one no-vote member said directly to the superintendent. The committee also unanimously ratified a three-year successor contract with the North Andover Administrative Assistant Unit, with negotiator Hicks describing talks as efficient and cordial. Teaching assistant bargaining sessions are now scheduled for August 24, September 16, and October 7.
