North Andover Select Board Approves Five-Year Axon Body Camera Contract

NORTH ANDOVER — June 25, 2026 — North Andover Select Board approves five-year Axon body camera contract in special remote session. The board voted 4-0 Thursday morning to authorize the agreement, which carries an initial equipment cost of approximately $200,000 and roughly $50,000 annually for cloud storage, maintenance, and ongoing equipment. Acting Police Chief Domenico, who presented the contract alongside Sergeant James, said the department chose Axon in part because the company is on the Massachusetts state procurement contract and already supplies the department's Taser units. A pilot program had already drawn positive feedback from officers. Impact bargaining with affected unions was confirmed complete. The board called the special meeting to avoid a nearly month-long delay before its next regular session on July 20.
